If you haven’t subscribe to streamyx, below are the basic requirement of your PC and phone line in order to use Streamyx and implement the Home Wireless Network. Before subscribing to Streamyx, please have a quick look through the checklists below. you should check:

Telephone line requirement:
• Have a direct copper connection through a Telekom Malaysia fixed line that must link to the TM exchange where the DSL is available. This is referring to the current or normal telephone line that most Malaysians are using.
• Ezeephone, ISDN, hunting lines and the CDMA service do not support Streamyx. For further questions you may refer to Telekom.
• Telephone lines with fiber connections are supported at limited areas only. For further questions you may refer to Telekom.


PC requirement, you’ll need to have:
-Telephone line - TM fixed line or Centrex only
-AC power supply for your modem
-Internal wiring
-Hubs, routers, server (for networking purposes)
-PC (with CD drive) + LAN connection card (NIC)
-DSL modems (if applying for without-modem package)

If your package comes with modem, TM Net will provide you (please refer to Streamyx website for further details or any changes on this):
-Splitters
-Micro filters
-DSL modems


Below is the minimum requirement for PC or Laptop according to Operating Systems (OS):


Windows OS:
-Pentium 233 or equivalent processor
-Windows 98 and above
-32MB RAM
-2.1GB hard disk capacity (30MB of free hard disk space)
-LAN connection card (NIC)*
-CD ROM Drive (for loading the modem software)

Note: To check whether your PC is equipped with a LAN connection card (NIC), simply go to Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager and check the hardware listing; or check the slots on your computer for a network card.

Mac OS:
-Power PC Macintosh with system 7.6.1 or later
-32MB RAM
-10MB free hard disk capacity
-Ethernet port
-Mac OS X version 10.1.2 above only (At present, lower versions are not supported)
